Aquaculture

Although garlic and onion are not a natural part of fish diets, applied research in aquaculture nutrition has shown that their aromatic fractions can be successfully incorporated into feeds, either blended into the formulation or applied as pellet coatings, to support improved appetite, more stable intake, and smoother dietary transitions in both freshwater and marine species.

During sensitive phases (start-up, pre-growing, transfer to sea, formulation changes, or temperature variations), the organoleptic nuances of alliums help de las aliáceas ayudan a standardize feed aroma, allowing fish to perceive less variation between batches or production stages. This promote continuity in feed intake and more predictable feeding routines.

In addition, numerous scientific studies have indicated that the inclusion of alliums may be associated with indirect positive effects on digestive comfort and feed-use efficiency, sobre el confort contributing to animals that are better adapted to productive, environmental, and management-related stressors.
