The Granada-based company Domca is one of the companies in the province of Granada with the largest foreign trade to Eastern European countries. Due to the conflict there and its repercussion on our work, the Andalusian regional television channel Canal Sur visited us last March to make a report focused on the crisis derived from the war in Ukraine.

“It is affecting us because we were exporting to all the countries involved in the conflict, such as Ukraine and Belarus, mainly cheese coatings and preservatives for the food industry,” said our colleague Andrea Ricci, the company's commercial director.

Among the aspects that have been affected by this crisis is a Domca collaboration with the Russian university where research was carried out between Sierra Nevada and Siberia on the power of micro-organisms to preserve food in a natural way.

For DOMCA, the war frustrates the work of several years of business, but it is hoped that the prolongation of the conflict will not affect other lines of research and production.
