The 2024 edition of Nutriforum stood out for its focus on sustainability and was attended by hundreds of professionals and experts in various fields of the industry, including farm managers, veterinarians, animal nutrition consultants, distributors and business developers. This diversity of perspectives and experiences helped to enrich the discussions and promote collaboration between the different actors in the production chain.

During the days of the congress, critical topics such as the carbon footprint reduction in animal feed, the implementation of more sustainable agricultural practices and efficient use of natural resources. In addition, the latest research and technological advances in animal nutrition were presented, with a focus on improving animal health and welfare while optimising performance and minimising environmental impact.

In addition, the event served as a platform for the presentation of innovative and collaborative projects related to animal nutrition, such as the Andalusian operational group #.Health4goat, whose main objective is the development of a computer tool for the application of phytotherapy for improving animal welfare, The aim is to improve productivity and milk quality and, in turn, to reduce the use of antimicrobials on dairy goat farms in Andalusia.

Colleagues from DMC's animal nutrition department represented the #Health4goat task force at Nutriforum 2024, highlighting the task force's commitment to research and development of sustainable solutions in the animal nutrition industry. This operational group, funded by the Junta de Andalucía, in the framework of the Andalusian Rural Development Programme 2014-2022 (submeasure 16.1, operations 16.1.2 and 16.1.3.), also participates in DCOOP, Boalvet and Cicap.

DMC looks forward to returning to this important forum in 2025 to share the first results of the #Health4goat project and to continue to contribute to the advancement of sustainability in the animal nutrition industry.
