DOMCA has had the opportunity to present its innovation projects to members of the BIO-BOOST project, made up of clusters from different European countries.

A group of representatives from different European innovation clusters, members of the project BIO-BOOST yesterday visited the facilities of DOMCA, a company from Granada with more than 45 years of experience in the agri-food sector, during the conference held this week in Granada.
During this transfer conference, organised by the Andalusian innovation cluster onTech Innovation, DOMCA welcomed representatives from different European clusters in the field of technological and agri-food innovation to its facilities in order to present their innovation projects and find possible synergies between the different groups.
In addition to the products and services offered by the group, DOMCA/DMC Research presented the European R&D projects they are currently carrying out, such as:
- BIOVEXOwhose main objective is the research and production of innovative biopesticides against Xylella fastidiosa in olive and almond trees.
- AGRO2CIRCULARFocus on the revalorisation of waste from the plastics and agri-food industries.
- BIOPROMEDFOOD: PRIMA project in which DOMCA has isolated strains of artisanal fermented foods with the capacity to extend the shelf life of Mediterranean foods and to protect against pathogens such as Listeria monocytogenes.
DOMCA also had the opportunity to present the recently started PRIMA Inno4Solmed project, in which DOMCA will explore the isolation of strains in pickles to increase the safety and shelf life of Mediterranean foods, as well as research on new extracts with antimicrobial, antioxidant and antitumour capacity.
Finally, DOMCA presented the national projects FITOPET financed by the CDTI, for the development of products for pet nutrition, or the projects of the CDTI MISSIONS call, CULTUREDMEAT (cultured meat) and BIO4ALIM (biotechnological platform for bioproducts).
The group was led by the representative of Food & Bio Cluster Denmark (foodbiocluster.dk), The BIO-BOOST consortium leader and representatives of the entities: CLIC Innovation (Finland), Murska Sobota Cluster (ITC) of Slovenia, the Lithuanian Innovation Centre - LIC, the Polish entity National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the Polish Foundation UNIMOS.»
A cluster is a group or conglomerate of companies in the same sector interconnected within a territory with the aim of developing common proposals.
DOMCA has recently become a member of the cluster. onTech Innovation, the largest technology and biotechnology cluster in Andalusia, based in Granada.
After the presentation of the company's innovation projects and activities, the group was able to visit the company's R&D facilities and even take part in a small cheese painting workshop.
