On 26 June, DOMCA was honoured to participate in the final day of the Task Force's GO NaturSmoke, held in the emblematic Carmen de la Victoria, of the University of Granada. This event brought together all project partners in an ideal environment to reflect on the progress made and the impact generated.

Natursmoke: A commitment to sustainability and agricultural innovation

During the conference, the results of the project entitled:
“New disinfectant technologies based on active ingredients obtained from food by-products for the control of plant pathogens in agriculture”.”, an initiative committed to biotechnology, circular economy and sustainability in the agricultural sector.

This project has focused on the development of innovative solutions no waste to protect crops, using active compounds extracted from agri-food by-products.

Main project developments

Among the most outstanding achievements presented during the meeting were:

Obtaining natural extracts with disinfectant capacity from by-products of the food industry.
Tests under real growing conditions, These studies have validated the efficacy of these extracts against phytopathogens of agricultural importance.
Agronomic compatibility studies and environmental impact assessment, confirming the sustainable and environmentally friendly nature of these innovative solutions.

Synergies and inter-institutional collaboration

The event was attended by representatives of all the project partners:
Bioplagen, Agricultura y Ensayo S.L., University of Granada, BIOVEGEN - Technological Platform for Plant Biotechnology and DOMCA.

Also noteworthy was the attendance of the Invited Task Force GO Simbioliva, The participants shared experiences and synergies around sustainable agricultural technologies based on the valorisation of by-products and circular economy principles.
