DOMCA, a company from Granada specialised in the development of technological and innovative solutions for the agri-food industry, has received the institutional visit of Gumersindo Carlos Fernández, territorial delegate of Economy, Finance, European Funds and Industry, Energy and Mines in Granada. The purpose of the meeting was to gain first-hand knowledge of the company's activity, positioned as an innovative benchmark in the province of Granada, its technological capacity and its growth plans.
The visit was attended by representatives of the local and regional administration, including Jorge Sánchez, Mayor of Alhendín, and Cristian García, Councillor for the Environment, along with the regional delegate himself. The delegation was welcomed by DOMCA's management team, headed by its CEO, Andrea Ricci, who accompanied the attendees on a tour of the facilities.
Throughout the day, the institutional representatives were able to learn about DOMCA's main lines of work, focused on the development of natural and innovative solutions to improve the quality, safety and shelf life of food, in response to new market demands and the challenges of the agri-food sector. The visit included the Chemistry and Microbiology laboratories, the Biotechnology plant, the Microwave area and the company's new industrial building - spaces that reflect its firm commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and industrial growth.
DOMCA also presented its technologies aimed at obtaining natural extracts, which are intended to improve the quality, safety and shelf life of food, in response to new market demands and the challenges of the sector.
The company also presented some of the research projects promoted by its R&D department, as well as the academic collaborations it maintains with institutions such as the University of Granada and the University of Bologna, whose students are currently participating in internship programmes at the company. In this context, DOMCA is part of numerous national and international projects focused on food safety, animal nutrition and health.
New facilities
The attendees were also able to visit the company's new facilities, an extension that will strengthen its internationalisation process and increase its production capacity, thus consolidating its growth and competitiveness. During the event, the safety and prevention measures implemented by DOMCA, which guarantee the protection of workers, facilities and the environment, in line with its commitment to a safe, responsible and sustainable industrial activity, were also highlighted.
