Innovative extractions of compounds of interest in agri-food by-products in Andalusia, Extremadura and Murcia.
The objective of GO INNOEXTRACT is to develop extraction protocols, as an alternative to the use of organic solvents, for obtaining different compounds of interest and in different by-products through the use of clean and environmentally friendly technologies with high yields and economically viable, for their application in the agricultural, food, cosmetics and food supplements sectors.
DOMCA acts as leader of the Operational Group together with the companies Citricos de Murcia S.A., and Troil Vegas Altas S.C. (TROIL, ), and the technology centres Tecnova Centro Tecnológico (TECNOVA, ) Centro Tecnológico Nacional de la Conserva y Alimentación (CTC), Centro Tecnológico Nacional Agroalimentario Extremadura (CTAEX) and the collaboration of Cooperativas Agroalimentarias de Extremadura.
The group is part of the National Rural Development Programme (2014-2020).
The objectives of the project include the following:
- Selection and characterisation of waste and by-products from the agri-food industry for the extraction of compounds:
- Development and laboratory-scale application of extraction protocols with the elimination of organic solvents.
- Semi-industrial scale application of the protocols developed. Extraction and purification of compounds of interest.
- Application of compounds in different fields of industrial activity: food (preservatives and fortified foods), agriculture (high added value fertilisers).
- Validation of the products obtained and demonstration actions aimed at companies.
The project is co-financed by the European Union at 80% under EAFRD and 20% under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the managing authority responsible for the implementation of the EAFRD assistance and its national share being the Directorate-General for Rural Development, Innovation and Agri-Food Training (DGDRIFA). Total amount of aid approved: €484,641.92. The body responsible for the content of this publication is the beneficiary members of the Innoextract Task Force.
