Bacterial diseases and parasitic infestations are a very serious risk to the sustainability and profitability of aquaculture production worldwide. DOMCA has developed the Aquagarlic range, an innovative range of natural additives exclusive for aquaculture feeds in order to reduce the impact of these problematic outbreaks for the aquaculture farmer.

The ultimate goal is to ensure that our products help to improve fish health conditions in both inland and offshore aquaculture. Therefore, the Aquagarlic range has been developed through a specific approach for this sector, combining basic research in our highly specialised laboratory (DMC Research Center) together with applied research in the field with the collaboration of our customers and associated research centres.

Domca's range of products is based on natural compounds and contributes to reduce the use of antibiotics and chemicals in aquaculture.

There are 3 types of systems production:

  • Extensive aquaculture: Production system where human intervention is minimal and natural conditions are used to the maximum. It is carried out in ponds with a minimum size of 5 hectares.
  • Semi-intensive aquaculture: A system in which man is involved in the supply of feed and the addition of fry. It has ponds with an area of between 5 and 1 hectare.
  • Intensive aquaculture: A system that seeks greater production in the smallest possible space and time. It is carried out in ponds of less than one hectare in size.
